  1. How many issues of the fanzine have there been?

Since it's first issue as Ye Old Centrals Underground Press in 1889 there have been 712 issues.

  2. Who writes for WUP? How do I contribute some content? What is required?

Anybody who sends us stuff is likely to be welcomed with open arms - the fanzine only survives because of content sent in.

We try not to edit anything that is sent in, wherever possible. We do occasionally make spelling and grammar alterations. There is no set length requirement - if it's too long, we can serialise it, if it's really short we can still incorporate it one way or another.

Please email all submissions to content@wup.me.uk in the first instance.

Simply write about whatever is on your mind, assuming there is at least a tenuous link with AFC Wimbledon, or a current hot topic in the general football world. Letters, cartoons, songs, rants, jokes, pictures all welcomed.

We will weld it into the next available issue.

  3. Do I have to use my real name or can I use a pseudonym for my article/letter/cartoon?

Whatever suits you! Although if you are having a pop at somebody, you should really give them a right of reply.

  4. How much bunce has been raised from selling WUP and how have funds been dispersed? Who holds the dough until the time of dispersal? Who decides what to spend it on?

Email content@wup.me.uk and we can make available our spreadsheet for inspection*.

Accounts were kept from 2005 onwards, anything previous to that, please ask Moke :-)

The current treasurer is The Black Fingernail. He does not include monies on the spreadsheet until they have been presented to him in person, and that tends to depend on how frequently he has been attending matches.

Group WUP consultation takes place regularly about projects that would benefit from WUP cash. We listen to the suggestions from guestbook regulars before writing cheques.

*not available to Franchise fans or HM tax inspectors

  5. Who is behind WUP and www.afcwgb.co.uk? Do they have previous form?

Originally WUP was the brain child of Moke, ably backed up by Bert and distributed from the Wombulance. Moke is currently on a self-imposed sabbatical whilst compiling a book about chav cuisine and embarking upon a breeding programme. Bert was instrumental in the guestbook launch and remains the major player in that area, today.

Northern Monkeys Leamington Pete and The Black Fingernail muscled in along the way, having been involved with predecessor publications of dubious Dons distinction (as was Bert) and Basingstoke Don offered his unique brand of experience and sales technique whenever sober enough to do so. Kate from www.afc-wombles.com has been a particularly valued collaborator and has given large amounts of his time to assist WUP, on-line and on paper.

Later still, Brazilian Don, Tintin, Bubble and Weston Green Don were absorbed into the WUP brethren and their collective involvement and skills are expected to ensure WUP's existence for many years to come.

WUP is also hugely in moral debt to BigFatCat, Chavfont Don, Paddy, Ash, JSA, OldWarwickiDon, The Pope, Surrey Bob, Mike A, assorted Brazilian Don offspring and countless others who know who they are.

  6. How can I get hold of back issues of the fanzine?

In a lot of cases we can provide an electronic pdf file of each issue, for a small paypal donation. We have been known to do mail order subscription on request, the only problem being we cannot guarantee frequency of publication.

We hope to shortly make available "WUPmebay" whereby you can click to order specific issues by mail or email and pay for them accordingly. This service will also extend to Dons fans who want to sell unwanted belongings to other Dons fans, with payment to be agreed between the individuals and donations made to the Dons Trust.

  7. Is there a comprehensive list of back issues?

Yes, please see "Past Issues" button, complete with cover scans, so you can see which ones you are missing from your collection, you sad fanzine anorak!

  8. I've seen WUP on ebay, but I'm abroad and don't have a PayPal account. How can I get a pdf file of the fanzine emailed to me whilst it's fresh?

WUP doesn't do freebies, even to it's own agents. However, written contributions for the issue in question or the next one, could well be the alternative currency required to ensure a copy in your inbox.

  9. Where has my favourite WUP personality - "Classless Bandwagoner" - disappeared to? I have not seen him post recently.

CB is serving a ban in connection with using somebody else's tag code. He has since re-offended and has been banned permanently.

  10. When will the next issue of WUP be on sale, and is there any way I can get it delivered to me?

The next WUP will have its launch date notarised on the diary when you have sent us sufficient items for inclusion! . And yes, you can have it delivered to you provided that you are within 10ft of a WUP seller ;-)
